The City of Eagle, Idaho
Eagle is 10 miles west of downtown Boise and has approximately 15,000 residents. Eagle is maintaining its rural charm in the increasingly urban setting of Southwestern Idaho. Open space, appealing but firm design standards, and Western architecture contribute to a city that allures both visitors and those who call Eagle home.
With the Boise metropolitan area just a short drive away, Eagle offers a climate of country living in close proximity to the business and cultural elements found in the state's largest city - a combination that makes this a unique and enjoyable place to live. With the intersection of the state's primary north-south highway (Highway 55) and a major east-west route (Highway 44), access to and from the community is efficient and diverse.
Arboretum Park, Friendship Park, Orval Krassen Park, and Merrill Park offer recreational diversions, and will soon be joined by more than 100 acres of additional park land. Eagle Island State Park provides 500 acres of riding trails and casual opportunities on the city's western edge.
Golfing also adds to the city's spacious climate with Eagle Hills, Banbury, (built in 1999), Shadow Valley and Foxtail Golf Courses.
The community promotes many annual events including Eagle Fun Days Festival with its Wet and Wild Parade and the World's Largest Rocky Mountain Oyster Feed, a traditional July 4th Celebration with games and fireworks, Halloween activities, and an old fashioned Country Christmas.
